4 Blessings of Prayer

Isaiah 40:29-31

29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

For God to move in a nation or generation, two things are required:

  1. The ministry of the Word of God
  2. Heartfelt, continuous prayer

Prayer is more than merely reading the Word of God or thinking about it. It is an act itself—a two-way communication with the divine. Divine possibilities are realized in a person only when they engage in prayer.

Many aspects of your life won’t change unless you pray. Wishing or thinking alone does not bring about change. Mere desire is insufficient; effective prayer is required.

Here are some of the things prayer does for you:

1.      Grants you access to make supplications

Supplication involves making requests (Mark 11:24). Prayer provides the platform for you to present your requests to God.

2.      Serves as a platform for making decrees

As royalty, you must understand the importance of making decrees. Decrees are established from the place of prayer (Job 22:27-28). They come to stand only after prayer has been made.

3.      Facilitates alignment

Alignment means being in order or in line with God’s will. When you pray, you intuitively understand what God expects of you. All of God’s blessings for your life are found on the path of spiritual alignment, which keeps you open to the Spirit.

4.      Provides a source of strength

Fulfilling God’s plan for your life requires more than physical intelligence; spiritual energy is essential. You gain this strength through prayer.

Remember, as you wait on the Lord in prayer, your strength is renewed. For He gives power to the faint and increases strength to those who have no might (Isaiah 40:29-31). By all means, pray.
